The sun sure gets picked on these days.  With growing concerns of skin cancer on the rise, we're constantly urged to relish in the shade, slather ourselves with self-tanner rather than the real thing and never leave the house without a dose of SPF under our clothes.   


Perhaps it's all a misunderstanding.  Maybe we're to blame for not learning how to make rays work for us in the first place. With all this solar bullying going on, it's great news to hear that DERMAdoctor has chosen to start healing our relationship with the sun by creating a lotion that converts sunlight into a powerful anti-aging red light.  Interested?  Read on.

To avoid "blinding you with science," we'll simply say that Photodynamic Laser Lotion uses the Noni fruit in the same way a solar panel captures sunlight and uses it to power other things.  The red wavelengths it emits are shown to have a multitude of benefits including, improving elasticity, restoring radiance, revitalizing fine lines and helping to even tone.


 DERMAdoctor cautions against seeking out additional sunlight, as the product will work with minimal sun, but for the purpose of this test, I spent a week soaking it up.  By day three (left) I was shocked to see improvements in my skin already.  My face was dewy, illuminated and super hydrated.

With most red light therapy treatments, you'll find yourself broke and bored out of your mind, as doctor's office and at-home versions are expensive and time consuming.  Lotion is something you put on every morning anyways and this one keeps working for you all day with no effort on your part...Kind of like 7 microscopic little anti-aging dwarves spending 8 hours a day working on making you look better.  Hi ho, indeed.


The consistency is light and silky.  It's pleasant enough that I'd be using it even if it didn't have magic powers! The product also has a 30 SPF built in, so if you wind up taking lunch outside...or at Disney World on a 90 degree Florida afternoon (left,) you won't get burned.  It lets the good in and blocks out the bad.  Nice.
